We stopped using chemical sunscreens long ago and started on our search for a natural recipe that would work!

The active ingredient in this sunscreen is zinc oxide - which is safe for all ages and acts as a physical sunscreen, not a chemical one. Studies have shown that zinc oxide remains on the surface of the skin and is not able to be soaked in. This greatly increases the SPF of the sunscreen.

The base of this sunscreen is shea butter and coconut oil. Both of these oils have a low SPF and help shield your skin from the sun.

We recommend testing this on your skin first. Apply generously and reapply often. Remember- we are using just plants and minerals, so be sure to see how much your own skin type needs.

Ingredients: organic shea butter, organic coconut oil, non nano zinc oxide, organic carrot seed oil, lavender essential oil, myrrh essential oil, lemongrass essential oil, geranium essential oil.

NOTE: We are not claiming a specific SPF level since our sunscreen has not been tested in a lab and so it would be against FDA laws for us to do so. You will need to reapply and be aware of your own skin type. The zinc oxide is 32% of the recipe.
